This picture reminds me guadua forests in my town. Guadua is a thicker bamboo variety, when it is growing, the terrain seems like if it was covered on spikes. I’ve heard of some people that almost got impaled on one of those. Anyway, the coolest thing is how much a guadua forest resembles a cathedral, a green cathedral in the nature, and that inspires true reverence.
There are other people who find quite disorienting the experience of walking through this kind of forest, and that’s why it brings to my mind los duendes -translated as:Goblins- (nature spirits, that in this case, amuse themselves by messing with travelers’ minds in the mountains and the countryside, making them lose their path by confusing them), which adds the usual creepy and mysterious qualities of woods all around the world.
